I was an average, middle-class kid like my nieces and nephews. We share the same history, and so I document my own history as I photograph theirs. Our history, however, differs drastically from our grandparent’s and great-grandparent’s, marred by suicide, alcoholism, lack of education, mental illness, poverty, and divorce. Regardless, we’re family and this peculiar diary hopes to bridge disparate generations.
