The set of classic black and white executive headshots was commissioned by Canadian commercial real estate platform and global investment company Bentall Kennedy. The executives’ headshots were photographed at their office in midtown Manhattan in New York City. One set of headshots was shot in color out on a ledge that runs along the exterior of the building with midtown skyscrapers as the backdrop. The other set was photographed on a Mamiya RZ67, a medium format film camera, using traditional black and white film. These photographs comprised full body portraits inside the office and group portraits on a modern outdoor rooftop lounge area.
Though this was the first time I shot true black and white headshots a on real film camera for a client, it’s the perfect way for any company to make a bold, visual statement about their brand. It’s timeless, classic and powerful.
