I photographed wealthy hedge fund founder Robert Wilson, worth over $800 million, who was openly gay and atheist, at home for the Financial Times a couple years ago. This week he committed suicide by jumping to his death from the famous San Remo building across the street from Central Park on Manhattan’s Upper West Side where he lived. He had suffered a stroke a few months ago. Before his death, Robert gave $600 million away to The American Civil Liberties Union, environmental conservation organizations and the Catholic Church.
